How the Global Clinical Genomics Fellowship collects, uses, and protects your information.
Last updated: 28 August 2026
The Global Clinical Genomics Fellowship ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This page explains what personal information we collect when you apply to or take part in the Fellowship, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.
The Fellowship is run by GENEPICA, 2nd Floor College House, 17 King Edwards Road, Ruislip, London, United Kingdom, HA4 7AE. For data protection purposes, we are the "data controller" of the information described on this page.
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
All places currently open for this cohort are fully funded, so we don't currently collect billing or payment information. If we later open self-funded seats for this cohort, we'll update this policy to reflect that.
We use your information to:
With your separate consent, we may also feature your story, profile, or testimonial in our marketing, or involve your information in academic research. We'll always ask before doing either. Outside of this, we only use your information for the purposes above, or a closely related one.
We share information with:
These are the only groups we share your information with, other than where the law requires us to disclose it to someone else. Sharing this information with a sponsor is not the same as selling it — sponsors are paying to fund fellowship seats, not to buy applicant data, and we don't receive any separate payment for sharing it. You can ask us at any time to stop sharing your information with a sponsor for future promotional use; this won't affect a place you've already been offered. We don't sell your information to anyone, for any purpose.
Flag for legal review: until self-funded seats are actually available, there's no alternative route into the Fellowship for someone who doesn't want their data shared with a promotional sponsor. This is the main open question on this section — please confirm this structure is sound before self-funded seats exist as a genuine alternative.
As our applicants, fellows, and faculty are based around the world, your information may be transferred to and processed in other countries. Where it is, we take reasonable steps to keep it protected to a UK standard.
We keep application information for 18 months, to allow time for reporting purposes, and fellow records for as long as needed to verify your credential. We delete information once it's no longer needed.
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your information, or to restrict or object to how we use it. To do so, contact us using the details below. If you're unhappy with our response, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Our website uses cookies to run properly and to understand how it's used. You can control these through your browser settings.
We may update this page from time to time. We'll post any changes here with a new "last updated" date.
