It's a cohort-based online fellowship for healthcare professionals who want to bring genomics into everyday clinical practice. Rather than a self-paced course, fellows move through a shared curriculum together, with live sessions, faculty from leading institutions including Oxford, Cambridge, and UCL, and a capstone project applied to their own clinical context.
The Fellowship is designed for medical doctors and clinicians, laboratory and genetic professionals, researchers and academics, healthcare leaders and policymakers, and students or early-career professionals working toward a career in genomics.
A structured cohort gives you things a self-paced course can't: peers to learn alongside, live faculty access, set milestones that keep you on track, and — most importantly — a global professional network that lasts well beyond the programme. See our "Why a Fellowship" section on the homepage for a fuller comparison.
Applications for the current cohort will open shortly. Once open, you'll be able to apply directly through this website — click "Apply Now" in the navigation bar for the latest status. In the meantime, you're welcome to email us with any questions.
No. The Fellowship is intentionally small and selective — this is part of what makes the cohort experience valuable. Submitting an application doesn't guarantee a place, and admissions decisions are made at the discretion of our admissions committee.
We keep unsuccessful applications on file for a limited period in case a place opens up, or to make it easier to apply again for a future cohort. See our Privacy Policy for details on how long we retain this information.
All places currently open for this cohort are fully funded — there's no tuition fee to apply or take part. Funded places have their own eligibility criteria, confirmed as part of the application process.
We may open self-funded seats for this same cohort later on. If we do, we'll publish clear terms covering fees and payment before those seats open — this page and our Terms of Use will be updated at that time.
Funded places are made possible by sponsors and grant funders who support the programme's mission. If your organisation is interested in partnering with us, visit our Partner With Us page.
The programme runs 17–21 weeks, at roughly 4–5 hours per week. Each week combines a live lecture and Q&A, written materials, and an asynchronous discussion forum, alongside an ongoing participant evaluation framework.
Yes — the Fellowship is delivered as a mix of live/live-streamed sessions and distance/e-learning content, so you can take part from anywhere in the world.
Each fellow completes a capstone project applied directly to their own clinical context, with feedback from an expert faculty panel — a core part of turning the curriculum into practical, applicable skill.
Our faculty are clinicians and researchers from leading institutions including the University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, UCL, University of Birmingham, University of Cape Town, EMBL-EBI, and Queen Mary University of London. See our full Faculty Directory for details on each faculty member.
Accreditation is currently in progress. We are pursuing CPD accreditation via the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK. We'll update this page as soon as accreditation is confirmed.
Yes — fellows who complete the programme's academic and attendance requirements receive a credential from a named, dated fellowship cohort, distinct from a generic certificate of completion.
